Winter is here!!

Today Winter has oficially arrived. Winter is a season that goes from 21st December, when Autumn ends, to 20th March, when Spring starts. Winter is the coldest season and it is characterized by short days and long nights. People tend to practice snow and ice sports like snow boarding or ice skating and children enjoy making their own snowman. It's time to wear your coat, gloves, scarves and warmer clothes.
In English folklore, the elf Jack Frost and Father Winter (also called Old Man Winter) are personifications of crisp, cold, winter weather. Both creatures have been identified with the Old English god Woden, originated in Germanic folklore specifically in the Anglo-Saxon and Norse winter customs. The god Woden was the precurssor of what we all know as English Father Christmas and the American Santa Claus nowadays.
